ORBIT: The Quiet Reach

Take a contract. Choose a side. Change the balance of power.

A space adventure in development for ZX Spectrum Next from Croft Soft Software.

Three factions compete for territory across a divided galaxy. Along their frontiers, pirates threaten settlements, rival powers contest systems and civilians need a way out.

You decide which contracts to accept and whose interests to serve. Deliver weapons to a threatened frontier, rescue people from danger or evacuate refugees as another conflict spreads. Your work earns more than payment. It influences your reputation and the struggle for control.

Choose your loyalties

Helping one faction risks damaging your standing with another. Support an expanding power, build relationships across competing territories or pursue opportunities in lawless space.

Ongoing faction campaigns will develop alongside everyday contracts, connecting individual missions to changes across the galaxy. The balance of power will shift over time, with your actions helping determine who gains the advantage.

Beyond the frontier

Far from the established factions, an alien civilisation occupies the opposite side of the galaxy.

A dedicated 36-mission storyline will unfold throughout the game, gradually connecting events beyond The Quiet Reach with the conflicts closer to home. As expanding territories meet, those separate struggles will become part of a larger confrontation.

No faction has a guaranteed victory.

A galaxy with its own identity

Explore named worlds and frontier systems, with individual identities for landable planets in faction-controlled space. Beetle-inspired spacecraft, including the Scarab, give ORBIT a distinctive fleet of ships.

The focus is a galaxy where places, loyalties and the work you accept give you reasons to return.
