General Burgess and his weasel army have planted bombs across the country. As Philby, the caped mole from the Moledonia Underground Intelligence Corporation, you must defuse every bomb and reach the exit before time runs out.
Mole Mayhem brings Croft Soft’s 1997 Atari ST game to the ZX Spectrum Next with 40 new single-screen levels. Your mission takes you through castles, moonlit woodland, prehistoric landscapes, Egyptian tombs, space stations and city rooftops before a final showdown at Burgess HQ.
Dig through walls, trap guards beneath your feet and use springs, ladders and teleporters to reach each bomb. But watch your escape route: dug holes refill after a few seconds, threatening Philby as well as his pursuers.
Meanwhile, ladder-climbing spies, charging dinosaurs and wall-piercing aliens demand different tactics. Crumbling platforms, electric fences and low-gravity levels add further challenges, while the original music and Philby’s sampled voice return from the Atari ST game.
